Ho Chi Minh City Open University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Dong-A University (South Korea)

On the morning of February 27th, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Open University signed a cooperation agreement with Dong-A University (South Korea) at 35-37 Ho Hao Hon Campus. This collaboration aims to strengthen international partnerships, enhance the quality of education, foster a professional research environment, and create opportunities for cultural exchange and learning for both students and faculty members.

Overview of the event

Attending the event, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Open University: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha – President, Dr. Senior Lecturer Nguyen Thuy Nga – Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, other faculty members, and staff. On behalf of Dong-A University:  Prof. Haewoo Lee – President, Prof. Mira Jun – Head of Academic Affairs, Prof. Kisik Hwang – Head of Planning, Prof. Hyuntae Park – Head of International Relations.

In his speech at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha emphasised that the collaboration between the two universities would not only help students improve their professional skills and gain practical experience but also allow them to experience the culture and working environment in South Korea.

In response, Prof. Haewoo Lee – President of Dong-A University (South Korea), expressed his pleasure in partnering with HCMCOU. He hoped that this cooperation would strengthen bilateral relations, promote cultural exchange between the two countries, and bring practical benefits to students and faculty members of both institutions.

During the signing ceremony, both universities engaged in positive discussions and agreed upon several key initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint scientific research projects, the organisation of international seminars, and training programs. 

It is known that Dong-A University is a prestigious private institution located in the heart of Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city. With over 70 years of history, the university has produced numerous talented individuals across various fields.
